Food Handlers Card

It is recommended by the Oregon Country Fair and the Blintz Booth that everyone have a Food Handlers Card. All coordinators must have a food handlers card. The course, test, and card can be obtained on line. It is fast and easy. Please get or update your Food Handlers Card. The information you learn is critical to a restaurant serving healthy quality food.

Camping At The Fair

Fire is always a primary danger at the fair site, so be prepared with the correct tools for your camp site. Every camp and self contained camping vehicle must have a five-pound ABC fire extinguisher. Fire extinguishers must be inspected annually. Sanderson Safety in Eugene has a special for Fair participants, so mention your involvement in the fair to get their special price. Don't forget you also need to have a 5 gallon bucket with wet burlap sack and a shovel. July may be quite dry again this year. Sanderson 850 Conger St, Eugene, OR 97402 541-683-9333

Personal camp toilets and pit toilets are not allowed on the OCF Site.

Camping can be challenging for seasoned members as well as people new to the booth. Camping spaces are steeped in tradition and change is difficult for everyone. There are options if camping issues arise and you need help. The camping Ambassadors will staff the Resolution Desk in Main Camp until Wednesday July 11th when they move to Little Dragon Info Booth. Camping issues can also be resolved with the assistance of Alan and Lily from the Blintz Booth.

No Digging The Oregon Country Fair site has a long history of 1100 years laid into the ground. Digging and raking can erase a story hidden just under our feet. Protecting the archaeology of the fair site is important because the land has not been farmed like many other tracts of land in the area. The repository of artifacts that exist on the fair site is an important bank of information that could be used to verify historic finds.  For more information on the ancient history of the fair site contact the Archaeology Crew located in Main Camp.

PASSES - This is IMPORTANT - Read This!

Booth passes are limited and distributed depending on need. The Blintz Booth request is evaluated on the work schedule and the Good Standing with the Fair. This year all pass requests not submitted with the application must be emailed to the Food Committee no later than May 15th. No requests after May 15th will be considered. The booth registration packet was due at the fair office by May 1st. All the passes available to the Blintz Booth are assigned on the booth application. Additional passes are requested at the same time. Any requests for passes to the Blintz Booth after May 1st will not be considered.

Getting a pass for the first time is no guarantee that a pass will be available in the future. Passes for new people are for one year only. Every year we exceed the number of passes the fair allots us, and we need to hunt for more. When requesting that a friend be part of the booth please try to find a pass for your friend by asking everyone you know if they have an extra pass we can purchase. Go to the page titled Camping Passes and look at the population of the booth. The cost of passes has gone up to $80, and after the deadline date the pass cost goes to $100. The booth at some point may not be able to sustain the increased costs and increased requests for passes. The booth cannot sell enough product to cover the cost without raising prices again. At the point of diminishing returns people will not purchase our product if they feel the cost is to high for what they receive. If the price of our product needs to go up, not because of food costs but because we need to pay for a growing number of passes, we will be forced to reduce the number of passes available from the booth. If you really want your friend to participate in the fair, find them a pass and pay for it.

OCF Minor On Site Form

This form is a statement that you are, or have authorization from, the minor’s parent or legal guardian to have the minor on the Fair property. You also agree to be responsible for ensuring the safety of all minors in your care, and that you will not leave children unattended at any time while on Fair property. Please print this form and present it to registration when you get your pass. Click Here for the Minor On Site Form

Approved Food Service Items from the OCF Food Committee and RecyclingThere is an approved list of items available at Cash and Carry for all food and drinks served at the fair. The list is long and was approved by the Food Committee and Recycling. If you are going to bring your own food and beverage containers please use compostable containers. If the list of approved items is available on line I will post the link here.

The Recycling Crew

Bring your own reusable water bottles. This simple act can make a significant difference in the amount of waste generated by OCF. You can buy an official Oregon Country Fair water bottle at Commemorative Sales. We have been asked not to purchase one use water bottles for the booth.

Plastic cups are not recyclable. Please bring your own reusable beverage cup. Remember, the personal cup cannot show the contents of the cup if you are drinking our adult beverages, so get a cup with a Blintz Booth color or your favorite logo on the side.

The OCF is a Waste-Free-Fair. No other event of any size disposes of their waste more responsibly than the OCF. Recycling takes great pride in the work they do. Help future generations of the OCF family reach even greater success when you pack it in and pack it out.
